In the mean time, Forums are open for your discussions.

                                        DEAD SPACE 2 UPDATE

I recently got my hands on the preview of Dead Space Extraction in GameInformer Magazine.

They began to goof around with Glen Schofeild when Glen asked what they thought of Co-op in another Dead Space, the reporter said they (GameInformer) would be very excited. The Reporter went ahead and asked the simple question "Why are you working on a Dead Space 2". Glen then went ahead and asked "When do you want it?"

And the rest is just a blur from all the excitment i have got from reading this small passage. It was a marrage of words. GameInformer said 2010 Glen said she you then!

Well what those these mean?

PAL Box Art revealed

The fine folks at GoNintendo have posted up the box art for the PAL release of Dead Space: Extraction.

PAL Box Art

Comparing it to the original game's cover, Dead Space had a mystery to it. It begs the unknown gamer to ask, what is going on and how did that hand get severed? This game has some mystery to it like what are this arm/tentacle things trying to get that girl which is quickly overrun by STOP WONDERING AND SHOOT IT type of vibe.

And some good guy that is, he isn't firing and trying to save her. All he is doing is yelling at her; probably cause she is a girl and we all know girls can't shoot guns or play video games!

Here's hoping the instruction manual keeps up with the box. I've always been more of an instructions sort of guy.

Wii : Dead Space Trailer shown at Nintendo's Press Confrence

Although Visceral Games showed off Dante's inferno and not Extraction at the EA press confrense yesterday, a new trailer appeard alongside The Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles at Nintendo's Press Confrence.

It looks good, and if you look closely a new hazard or necromorph could be scene, or a return of the drag tenticles.

The news all here at

I am very curious about the spaceship scenes and if they will play out like the rest of the game or a little different. And also, did anyone else get a bit of a 28 Days Later vibe with the music and then chaos? No, just me? Oh well, I can't wait to get my hands on this title on September 29!

Welcome Home

Here is the pre E3 show hands on video:

Lets cut down to the nitty gritty blood stain news ok.

over 6 hours of game play

IGN:   "and we've also confirmed through EA that the story may in fact jump from main character to main character, meaning that at any time your life as a specific player could end abruptly in favor of an impressive life-ending kill."  - Umm Yess please say bloody bloody death scenes i can't wait!

Some Levels play outside the ship, In outer space.

The games pace makes the light gun genre act more like a third person horror game, where the pace is fast, slow and then you feel the pull away from the party to pick up faster and faster with no lunch break.

The game ends roughly when Issac lands on the Ishimura meaning the cross scene that is a major plot in both Dead Space 1 and Extraction focuses on only a few things either the ship employes (Temple, Elizabeth, Mercer, Kyne, or Nicole) or communications (the gargle transmission at the begining of Dead Space 1 when we were aboout to land??????? just a hope)

Amazing Production and art, visuals, and audio for a wii game, puts to shame wii games.

Why am i talking read and watch for yourself

Extraction gets a new mode

Fresh off the pages of the Dead Space Twitter account (appropriately named isaacclarke) comes the latest news of a special mode being in the game.

Extraction Challenge mode is a go, repeat, Challenge mode is a go.

A little back story, about a month ago the same Twitter account posed a question about a name. It  was between Arcade Mode and Challenge, it is obvious which won out. But this begs the question, what is the Extraction Challenge mode? Is it just a shooting gallery where you test your crack shot or something of a speed run through certain sections to challenge your "extraction" skills.

I guess we will have to wait a little longer to see! What do you think?

Extraction Article on Kikizo.com

Thank you Ace for the email.

Kikizo.com interviewed our good ol' buddy, Steve Papoutsis about Extraction.

In the article they revieled that Extraction was started during the production of Dead space to tie in both stories in parallel.

They discuss what they demand in Extraction, steave who was the horror manager of Dead Space said;

"We want to get the same great atmosphere, and put the same emotion and expression across that you might have seen in Kendra and Hammond in the original Dead Space. So we made a priority. It's not to say people can't do that, it's just where do you want to focus. And for us we really wanted to nail the atmosphere. Dead Space has won numerous awards for the visuals, the audio, the gameplay... We've got a big road to hoe to get to that."

The Atmosphere is defiinitly at the top of the developers agenda, with some new and frankly grusome photos and that first creapy trailer it is deffinitly shown.

Is Extraction all hype? Well from all i've seen in such a short time from its anouncement and how it appears to be turning out, i have no reason to belive Extraction will fail.

Extraction is the thing i need to finally dust off my wii for good.

Read the whole artilce here at Kikzo.

thanks again Ace for the link.

Viscerel Games (Space, Blades, and Cake!)

Viscerel Games, the new title for the EA redwood shores studio as we already know. Posted a blog on the dead space website.  Basicly restating all that we have learned from the name change.

so if you missed the big announcement  click here http://deadspace.ea.com/blog/

Why repeat this story?

News that Extraction will be the first game to be released by this studio.

They posted a mission statement that i can't wait to see being followed.

And other most amazing cake you will ever see in your life is photographed.

Sure you can dismember your cake....if only we could eat it too lol.

With E3 right around the corner this may be the only news we get from the team so just hold on you guys. relax post your time trials and basketball scores in the forum,  and continue the many topics going on until June then, we can celebrate!

So relax and have some cake.

Dead Space 2 Development Already Underway?

It seems that the technical director for Electronic Arts, Pratik Patel, updated his LinkedIn page about current projects being worked on. In it he included this beautiful gem: "Dead Space 2/Project ETA".

This of course has been taken down since others in the gaming media. A Dead Space sequel is about as surpising for most people as seeing the sun rise in the East every morning but what is surprising is that development is already underway (or will be underway shortly).

The lack of hard information on the game is hardly surprising as well. Of course once Extraction finally sees the light of day and Wii fans get to play the best new franchise of 2008 information will likely be more forthcoming.

its really cool.

They describe how it will add to the atmosphere and terror of the game.

I would love to see this in dead space 2 aswell.

blog: http://deadspace.ea.com/blog/

Also if you follow their blog you would know they have been working on a new E3 video and been giving new details of the levels including names. like "no where to hide" which contains a couple of new enemies.
