Default New things for Dead Space: Glitches and videos on the way

Hi,
I am really liking the look and organization of this website. I see that there is not much traffic here but that is okay. All sites started small at some point. I thought about typing over at EA's board but to me it is very cluttered.

I having been playing Dead Space since December and I love this game. It takes the controls and appearance of Resident Evil 4 and adds the psycological horror from silent hill (amoung other games).

Whenever I find a game that I really enjoy, I try and make videos for it. I have been making videos for games like RE, SH, BR, God of War, and the mortal kombat games. You can find me at youtube with the same user name.

Anyway, I am currently working on a "story" video for dead space. In my mind it is in 3 sections joined together. Section one is finished and section 2 is about halfway done. In the meantime I have been glitch hunting and am pleased to say I have found a few noteworthy glitches. Not bugs that happen only once and offer no explanation. I have found some glitches that can be explained and tested by anyone here. I understand that glitches have raised a stereotype of negativity. To me, given the correct situation, they are fun and humerous at minimum.

My first glitch video will remain a secret until I get it upload (hopefully tomorrow) at youtube. I would hate to run into a mimicer anyway

I hope this post will be the beginning of many more to come and I hope everyone here enjoys it. Later.

I couldnt find you on YouTube. My channel is here: YouTube - Kanal von DaMa004

Good idea about the videos. Would it be ok if i also embedd them on the site or link to them? Always good to offer many things for the visitor and as you said, we're still growing. The site is only 4 months old yet.

Thanks! I have the first video done. It is a small glitch I found and instructions concerning how do it, why it works, and some other factors.

Here is the link for the video:

I am still working on the story video for this game but I keep running into creative hiccups. I do not want Isaac in every scene. I try and angle the camera so that less of him is shown but to me it is obvious. When EA made trailors for this game they showed a ton of extra camera angles and scenes that really sell it for the trailors. My favorites are the creepy walking with with isaac and his crew, the close up on the escape pod character, and close up on the Wall Man enemy. Too bad special angles like that aren't in this game. There are pretty much no camera special scenes and everything is over Isaac's shoulder. Not a fault for the gameplay, just a nuisance when trying to tell the story through multiple perspectives that don't always include Isaac

PS. Is there a way to have auto spell check running while typing these out?

OMG lol thats funny
it's like he is sniffing the ground like a dog lol.
a usefull idea for doing this is possibly pushing him throu the door that Dr. Mercer trys to slice you with in ch5 lol or try to freeze those lurkers (if you can glitch the lurkers) in the same thing with the hunter, to see if they freeze or not lol

I like the camera angle it makes you feel more that you are issac
and the cutscenes are like bioshock i love it lol

Nice upload , i had actually seen the same happening to the first brute you encounter as you're making your way to the bridge , if you kite him all the way to your right and as soon as he attacks , you go down the few stairs he'll either back way walking in circles around the center elevator which makes him a sitting duck since he just loops it ignoring you or sometimes (although very rare only seen it 3 times or something) he'll not even walk at all he'll just freeze there and you can push him around just like you did on your video with the necro.

Very nice indeed , keep it up.

We'll I could be wrong but I think the glitch has something to do with legless crawlers. It must be the speed. Even when I tried this on legless Pregnates it didn't work. I figured they'd move even slower because of there size
I think it could work on a Twitcher but they area pain. The Lurkers don't lose limbs (as far as I know) and removal of tentacles doesn't seem to impede their speed either.

I'm not sure what you meant with the door mercer slices you with in Chapter 5. I didn't think about freezing the Lurkers in the Cryogenic Chamber because I figured it would only activate if the Regen was inside. I'll have to try that one now

I love the game and its cut scenes and camera angles. It just makes the video harder for me to work on though. No complaints on EA. I am playing this game as much as RE4 and probably put several months into RE4 off and on through the years. Took me forever to earn the handcannon though

What you said reminded me of something. When I began impossible mode I was constantly looking for ways to save ammo. On my 2nd Brute encounter I ran toward the sparking cables to see what would happen. Initially I thought it might trigger an environmental death/damage to the boss. Then I saw him retreat after he got to a certain part. Kind of like an invisible trigger. That was what got me thinking about "safe spots". I looped the Brute back and forth and took shots at his back as he ran away. With a mid upgraded plasma cutter it took 87 shots for him to go down! I know there are better tactics but I thought I would try some odd ideas to see if they had any pay off.

To me this isn't really a speed game. It feels more like survival and that is what makes it great. I love the enemy programing in this game almost to the point where I hate it. I have yet to perfectly dodge a Slasher's run and jump attack. Now I can walk backward or fire a shot at the last second but I miss the dodging capabilities that Leon has in RE4 I do try and run past Dividers though. They are a nuisance to clean up.

I tried the stairs thing with the suicide enemies later on in that Hull lobby area (where you see a Brute for the first time) and they followed me down and killed me. I never thought stairs would act as a "safe point threshold" for the Brute. Nice find!

Another 'safe' spot is when Dr. Mercer sucks all the air out and you have to get to the life support controls, there's that long hallway with all the little crawly bastards (hate those things). Once you clear them out and open the door to the next room (the one with the 'creation') in it, they can't leave that room, so you can take your time killing the preggo Necros and cripple the creation before entering the room. (You may want to refill oxygen though after killing the preggos)
