Default Dead Space 2: Your suggestions?

What would you wish for a sequel to Dead Space?

I'd like to have some open areas outside of the ship where you have to repair something, or even a visit on a planet including great space graphics. I loved to watch the asteroids on the bridge of the Ishimura.

I would want to be taken down to Aegis 7, if only just for a bit more then in the first game. Various logs discussed how much of a virtual goldmine it was, if everyone remains ignorant (aside from the Unitologist higher ups anyway) of what has happened on the Ishimura then they would naturally try to send down another operation.

Units would be going down there either way, so it doesnt really matter how it happens.
Also, I want to know how deep the rabbit hole is with Unitology, entire fleets were mentioned, carrying bodies? That's a little suspicious to say the least

Yes, i alos want to go to Aegis 7, or any other planet in Dead Space 2. i like these space scenarious, makes me dream if done right, therefore i dont want to spend 90% of gameplay within a spaceship again.

I hope they take their time though, its still EA so i wouldnt be surprised if a sequel comes earlier than we all expect. I hope its takin longer though.

I agree that I'd NEED it to be different environments, varying in each level. I found this game to become so tedious towards the end, the final level is the only one which re-sparked my interest. It was always on the same ship, even on the different ship it was almost identical, and you always finished the level at the same place. Same environments, lighting, etc. It got too much for me eventually. I think it'd be better go to back to the roots of it, where the Necromorphs come from and their origins, and explore many different scenarios like in Mass Effect, where it's different all the time.

I agree with both DaMa and AA's points, there should be a varie of different levels and scenarios than ecploring through out the whole ship that could become tedius after time. The planet was a nice refreshment of the outside than exploring around the the ship's dark corridors.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!

Honestly , i didnt find the repetitive "spaceship" scenario on dead space that tedious. I mean the whole plot of the game is centered on the Ishimura , most of it anyways. Even the Valor crashes on the Ishimura , even though its a military ship , so basically the most of the game is centered on the planetcracker. Understandable. But i do agree that they should focus a bit more chapters on the surface of the planet though. In the game , they basically say "ok now Isaac goes to the planet because of the Marker. The End." , and i dont know , a few more 2 chapters at least on the surface would be "different" , but all and all , the claustrophobic ambience of a starship didnt really get to my nerves.

I didn't hate the ship environment. Even the backtracking was done really well. But by the end I gotkind of sick of "Somethings broken fix it." or endles fetch quests, This coupled with the ships repetitiveness kind of made it less interesting. Thankfully the pacing of the game was such that I never ever got bored. The Ishimura was masterfully created and gorgeous. In the sequel if it is on another ship then I just think they should tried to make it a bit more varied.

In Hydroponics for example, they could have had Issac running through a vast crop. Necromorphs could close in on him but you wouldn't be able to see because of the plants. In the Living Quarters I would have liked it to appear more lived in. Maybe a TV left on or two bodies huddled into a corner. A cafeteria perhaps, or a play room for kiddies. Anything like that to make the environments appear more unique.

What do you guys think they should do with Isaac for the sequel?
Should he be kept on or replaced by a new protagonist?

Personally I would like a girl to play the lead role in Dead Space 2. There aren't enough women like Jill in todays games. And seeing as how she could be dying in Resi 5 that makes me less hopeful.

edit: more Zero-G please!

hear hear. Zero-G zones were heaps of fun.

I think Isaac should be kept as a main character. The whole concept of survival horror is controlling a standard "weak" character who isnt used to dealing with that sort of situations , to create that "overwhelmness" feeling that you are fighting a losing battle and must use mostly your wits to beat the game. Like Isaac. He's a friggin engineer , not a soldier. So it fits in sort of. Though i do admit , female main characters fit in even more nicely than male main characters , because , and not wanting to belittle females in general , they have a harder time coping with emotional trauma. So yes females are top of the chain when it comes to horror game leading.

But i still think Isaac should be kept on the upcoming sequel of DS 2 because his main plot was only "scratched" so to speak , practically EA only linked Nicole to him on the game. And id like to see his character more developed than that in the future. Maybe even giving him some spoken LINES , rather than the "ARGH!!!!!!!" or the karate kick yells when he does a curb stomp.

For the sequal i want to see more regenerators and brutes. But since mercer is dead i don't think his creations will come back, one was fried, the other frozen. unless the frozen one is fawed by some one still on the ship, someone we haven't seen.
I want more zero-g enviroments and lots more bosses.

I would like to see more involvement with the Unitology. Possibly have the organization grab the marker or something and bring it back to a nearby island 2 colony. The colony gets infected, it just so happens that Isaak is aboard on leave. I would like to see more diverse enviroments, something like a better looking plant nursery, maybe a zoo, etc.
