Default Dead Space music vs Resident Evil 5 music? (or any other games)

I personally think Resident evil 5 is way better music, and i can't wait to get teh soundtrack with my game.

Somehow, jappanese game companys always out pass us american (halo cough bunji) in game music.

I find orchastra music that is directed for a game more moving and complementing for the games.

Like zelda, great music we all know that.

Halo grat music but its always similar no varity really

if you haven't heard any RE5 music you should

The Pray( theme song) by Kota Suzuki, Wataru Hokoyama

I personally prefer Dead Space. That's just me though I see your case for Japanese gaming music (Silent Hill, anyone).

What I liked most about the Dead Space music is you didn't notice it unless you were actively listening. It just felt so much like the mood of the game that I didn't attribute it to my baser senses. I attributed it to emotions.

But there are several great game composers outside of Japan. Namely Jeremy Soule. He's amazing. Though he does more RPG work he has done tons of different types of music.

Akira Yamaoka is still the best.

When I think Memorable game music, I think of that... and I get chills down my spine.

I do think RE 5's music is much more powerful and it tries hard to inspire emotion in you... while Dead Space just blends in and helps to create that errie mood.

Yeah. If you look it at this angle , Resident Evil is less horror , more action......sadly. Thus its OST is much more action based , whilst Dead Space focuses on the ambience's eeriness and the whole "hmn...a dark room...ominous." feel , that applies to the twinkle twinkle song , it has "HORROR" slapped all over it. RE5 OST is nice , but if i want action styled game OST id pretty much go for Devil May Cry , mind you. Thats my main reason for prefering Dead Space OST to RE5 OST.

i still perfer zelda over anything.

Twilight princess blizzeta fight, had that more action movie sense to it which i loved with the slightly dark icy theme.

Your right they are trying to bring the emotion out but i like that i want to see their view on it with their emotion. Its more cinimatic that way.
but deadspace is like that too as in a way you all said, you never notice it until you finally relax and listen and then its gone when the next scare pops up.

Yes twinkle little star is the best thing to happen to that song and it did give me chills when i heard it being sung in ch 9.

I personally love big extravagant boss battles with great ocrastra music that is so empowering that you get excited and you feel more involved in the game then ever, just like an orgasim and you always want to play it over and over again.

dead space's bosses disappointent me abit, they werent difficult, but all the hordes were lol

I didn't feel liek either game had amazing boss fights.
Both ending battles were kinda poorly done to me.
In DS, the fight against the Hive Mind was unrealistic and easy. The thing should of been able to kill you with one hit or at the very m,ost two, no matter what level of difficulty. Even fighting it on Pro mode felt weak.

IN RE5, the Wesker fight was also unrealistic, but I had no problem with that. The fact that it was set up piss ass retarded got to me though. Not only that, but the way it closed off the archs of both Chris & Wesker left a sour taste in my mouth.

Due to the poor nature oif those fights, I was too busy being a little to extremely ticked off to pay attention to music.

And yes, i agree with you. The hordes were hard.... but boss fights should either be harder, more extraordinary.

RE's cutscenes were amazing with the music.
But DS had better in game music

Yeap , thats also my opinion. And i also agree with the Hive Mind battle , even in Impossible mode it seemed to me to be the EASIEST enemy you face in the game. The only real "hard" part about it is when it picks up Isaac with the tentacle and you have to aim at the yellow thingies while it shakes you.
